I have always loved math, and I hope that this site will assist parents, students, and educators with the task of relaying advice and resources pertaining to the study and usefulness of mathematics.  This site features blog posts, scholarships for excellence in mathematics and for math majors, and fun activities that can be recreated at home or in the classroom!  

One of things I love most about research is conference travel.  As the blog progresses, I will be sure to speak to what research in mathematics looks and sounds like.  In the meantime, check out the photo album of my research conference travel!  In the words of the great author and cartoonist, Dr. Seuss, "Oh, the places you'll go!"

Scholarships were tremendous resources for me during both undergraduate and graduate school.  I constantly sought out scholarship sources and regularly wrote essay after essay to apply!  I will maintain a running list of scholarships for math majors (undergrad and grad).  As evidenced by my photos, I am a woman and an underrepresented minority in mathematics.  For this reason, some of the scholarships I post might be specific to women and/or underrepresented minorities.

However, I hope someone finds this useful and is awarded the much-needed scholarship money!
